From the Head of Junior School
Many thanks to all parents who were able to attend our Parent Information Evenings. These evenings are extremely important in ensuring a smooth year, with clear expectations, is experienced by all.
Last night saw the first of our Parent Social Evenings in the Junior School Courtyard. These evenings are a great opportunity for parents and staff to mix socially, away from the classroom. Additional gatherings have been arranged and I encourage all parents to make the most of these special evenings.
At Assembly this week, we discussed the meanings and symbolism of Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday, reflecting on why some people deliberately discipline themselves to give up something special during Lent, as Jesus did for forty days in the wilderness. I know that many families, like mine, remembered this special time through the sharing of pancakes, before the Lenten period.
We welcome 6W back from an extremely successful camp and wish the 6I campers a very happy time for next week.

My thought for this week came across my e-mail:
What happens to you is not as important as
how you react to what happens.
Everything you experience, good or bad,
has value.
Junior School Parents Association
It has been lovely meeting with parents at the morning teas and I look forward to meeting more parents at the Cocktail Evenings in the Junior School Courtyard over the coming weeks.
The first major function for the JSPA is mixed Tennis Day on Sunday 21 March. This is a fun filled day so please make up a court. If you don't play tennis still come along for a great lunch, prizes and good company. If you need a court to play on or you have a court that we may use please contact Bronwyn Cramond.
Money raised from Tennis Day goes to Teachers' Wish List. Each year the committee invites the teachers to submit a list of items that they need in their class rooms to make their teaching year more beneficial to our boys.
For Tennis Day and other coming events we need raffle items. If you can donate something or know of a contact please inform your class representative or a committee member. Support in this way is greatly appreciated.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
