From the Head of Junior School
This week saw the conclusion to our Parent Social evenings, with many Year Five and Year Six parents enjoying a relaxing evening together.
These functions have been made possible through the hard work and dedication of our class representatives, to all of whom, I extend a hearty 'thank you and well done' on behalf of the Junior School Community.
I mentioned last week that all boys will have the opportunity of participating in the 'Milk for Schools' programme from the beginning of Term Two. Applications are included with this Newsletter and are due back by Friday 19 March in order to enrol for next term.
This is a worthwhile programme and I encourage all families to consider the information provided with the enrolment form.
Special congratulations to Andrew Earle, Peter Earle, Alistair England and Nicholas Turner who have earned a place in the State Swimming Championships. Details of their success can be found elsewhere in this Newsletter. This is a wonderful achievement!!!!
Year Five will attend their annual camp next week and we wish them well for an exciting four days away.
My focus for this week has been 'Determination'. I discussed with the boys that being determined involves focusing energy and efforts on a particular task and sticking with it until it is finished. We concluded by hearing words from the book of Hebrews, which read... 'let us run with determination the race that lies before us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.'
(Chapter 12 V1-2).
My thought for the week...
'The greater the obstacle,
the more glory and satisfaction
in conquering it.'

Social Service
The first Social Service Activity for the year is coming up. On the last day of term, 31 March ,we will be having our Easter Hat Parade. Boys will decorate their hats at school as part of the Cross Age Program.
The whole school will participate in a Walkathon and have a Sausage Sizzle for lunch.
Money made from this activity will be donated to the Children's Hospital Easter Appeal.
As the time draws closer, I will inform you of details of the day.
