The 2009 pre-season training camp for Years 5-10 was a great success. Each day about 65 boys attended and were put through their paces. Many thanks to all the coaches: Tim Fry, Bruce Norton, Bill Darby, Luke Walker, Sandy Buchanan, Pat Swan and Aurelien Bouthier.
The boys also enjoyed the coaching by Matt Cockbain, ex-Wallaby player. It should be noted that the camp was originally intended for boys Year 7 and above but, due to the demand from the Junior School, a number of Year 5 and 6 boys joined. We hope they have a fantastic rugby future with Scotch !
Thanks must also go to all of the parents who organized and served lunch over the three days. A special thanks to Jane Fry, Helen Chesbrough and Ailsa Wilson for the planning that went into feeding all these hungry boys! The rugby club subsidized the lunches on each day and the Canterbury-made Scotch Rugby training shirts.
