New Deputy Head has impressive credentials

Congratulations to Mr Grant Phillips who was appointed deputy head of the Junior School from the beginning of 2006.

Grant was chosen from an impressive field of internal and external applicants. He arrived at Scotch in 2003 to teach Year 4, having previously taught at Presbyterian Ladies’ College, St Michael’s Grammar and Strathcona.

With experience as one of three deputies at PLC, Grant brings a wealth of administrative skills and teaching knowledge to the deputy head’s role, and has quickly established a positive rapport with students, staff and parents.

A published author in the field of science teaching, Grant is implementing a new science program across Years 4 and 5, as well as overseeing this important area of the curriculum across the entire Junior School.

Grant and his wife, Suzanne, have four children – Bonnie, Lincoln, Harrison and Bianca. Lincoln and Harrison are both Senior School students at Scotch.

The Scotch community welcomes Grant to the deputy head’s position, and wishes him well in his new role.
