Alexander Morrison Circle enters a new and exciting phase

The Alexander Morrison Circle has entered a new and exciting phase with a very successful lunch attended by over 100 people on 21 February.

The purpose of the lunch, generously sponsored by Bell Potter Securities Limited, was to recognise those who have already made a generous commitment to Scotch, and to encourage other members of the Scotch Family to make a bequest or future gift to the School.

Guest speaker Andrew Bell (’63) founding Director of Bell Potter Securities Limited, gave us an insight into the sharemarket and the fears and opportunities for investors. Andrew confirmed what we all know about the market – it’s volatile, exciting and best left to the experts!

Chair of the Bequest Committee Brian Randall (’51) was delighted to acknowledge existing members of the Alexander Morrison Circle who were present at the lunch by presenting them with their badges. Those present were: Alan Watkinson, David Ashton, Rob and Sue Logie-Smith, Marcus and June Manders and Keith Weymouth. We are looking forward not only to acknowledging more of our existing members but welcoming new ones at our future functions.

This luncheon was the first of several exciting events which are to be held during the year. The School is both delighted and humbled to realise the extent to which our Old Boys and their families think of Scotch College with such fondness and generosity.

People who confirm that they will include Scotch College in their wills become members of the Alexander Morrison Circle. The size of the bequest is not important, as each contribution makes a genuine and recognisable difference to the School and to the lives and futures of the boys who attend it.

We welcome an expression of interest from anyone who is considering leaving a bequest or who would simply like to explore the possibility. Please do not hesitate to contact either Jane Morgan (9810 4150) or Alan Watkinson (9810 4300) for a confidential discussion.
