Students of Unit 2 Chemistry couldn’t complain that there wasn’t much variety in their industry visits during August.
The visits – designed to enable students to see first-hand applications of chemistry – included time at Precision Plating in Burwood and Wilcox Metal Finishing in Dandenong, where they learned about electroplating. Perhaps most popular of all was a visit to CUB Abbotsford, to learn about fermentation and making beer.
These excursions leave the students with lasting memories. The Chemistry Department is grateful to the hosting organisations for their involvement, and for their enthusiasm in promoting chemistry.
If you can assist in providing a suitable venue for our students to explore, please contact the Head of Chemistry, Dr John Jackowski at the Senior School on 9810 4310.
