It’s 60 years since Scotch’s first Pipes and Drums band was formed, and a new history is being written to commemorate the band’s diamond jubilee.
The Pipes and Drums Auxiliary is publishing the history, and Old Boy David Kemp (’59), who has had two sons in the band, is working with the auxiliary to prepare it.
David’s seeking reminiscences, records and photographs from former members of the Pipes and Drums, and from anyone associated with the band. If you can help, please send material to David Kemp at the Scotch Archives, Morrison Street, Hawthorn, 3122.
And a note to everyone who responded to Dori Parkin’s advertisements in Great Scot in 2002: your letters and photos are safely stored in the School Archives, and will be used in preparing the Pipes and Drums history.
