Scotch rugby players in rep squads

Two Scotch junior rugby players – Shawn Srivastav (Year 7) and Chris Fry (Year 6) – were selected in the 2006 Victorian Rugby Union under 12 team. Shawn is a forward who plays under 13 rugby at Scotch and also in one of the Harlequin Rugby Club’s junior teams. Chris also plays junior rugby as a half-back at Harlequins.

The Victorian team competed in the NSW Junior Rugby Union championships in June. Victoria finished second in their pool, beating Illawarra and Southern Districts, drawing with Northern Suburbs and losing to the eventual winners of the tournament, Warringah. The team will travel to Adelaide this month to compete in the Primary Schools’ Sports Association national championships.
