AMC welcomes six new members

Six new members have recently joined the Alexander Morrison Circle – Michael Sim (’78), Michael Stillwell (’68), Sir Laurence Muir (’42), Tony Conabere (’60), Pam Marshall and Jamie Aitken (’62).

Michael Sim (’78) is a current member of the School Council, a Trustee of the Foundation and a former Council member of OSCA. Michael Stillwell (’68) is President of the Foundation and a past President of OSCA. Their leadership example is a strong endorsement of the importance of considering Scotch as a part of your will, and is a clear encouragement to others to think in the same way. Founding President of the Foundation, Sir Laurence Muir (’42) has long championed the cause of bequests, and is delighted to join the list of new members, along with Mrs Pam Marshall (former Member of the School Council, and currently a member of the Alexander Morrison Circle Committee), Tony Conabere (’60) and Jamie Aitken (’62), a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.

Led by Bequest Coordinator Jane Morgan the Alexander Morrison Circle recognises everyone who has indicated their intention of leaving a bequest to Scotch College, whatever the nature of that bequest. The Circle also organises three functions a year for its members and prospective members, with interesting and relevant guest speakers.

Jane Morgan says leaving a bequest to Scotch is one of the most powerful indicators of the esteem and love which many people hold for their school. ‘Over its entire history, Scotch has been fortunate indeed to be the beneficiary of many kinds of generosity through wills and bequests,’ Jane says. ‘This has included financial support, gifts of property and of valuable possessions. All have helped to foster the vision and mission of the School.’
