SUZETTE BOYD • HEAD OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES
Suzette Boyd and Wei Hu are presented with a cheque and a certificate by Ms Karen Bonnano, Director of KB Enterprises Pty Ltd, sponsor of the School Library Technology Innovation Award.
At the recent International Association of School Librarianship (IASL) Conference in Taipei, it was announced that the Scotch College Senior Library had won the inaugural School Library Technology Innovation Award.
This award recognises ‘school library programs or projects that effectively utilise current and emerging technologies … in information services delivery’.
The awards citation read:
‘The Awards Committee believes that the Scotch College Senior Library home page provides a portal that links users to valuable information. It provides opportunities for enhanced student learning and curriculum support. The portal is not only accessed by learners within the College, but international visitors as well. The site is an example of innovation in collecting, organising and disseminating value-added information within and beyond the school community. It provides a free flow of information and ideas and promotes the College library’s information services.’
Head of Library and Information Services Ms Suzette Boyd, along with our Technology Librarian and Web Developer, Mr Wei Hu, attended the conference in Taipei in July.
This is the third international award won by our Senior Library. In 2001 we won the IASL International Commendation Award for the Literature Festival, and in 2002 we won the IASL Web Page of the Year Award. Well done to the Senior Library team! GS
