New look for Great Scot!

Words: Tim Shearer • Editor, Great Scot

You will notice that this edition of Great Scot has a bright new look. Perhaps most obviously, it is a different shape – more of a ‘magazine’ shape than the old Great Scot. In addition, it includes larger, more colourful photographs; it has colour-coded sections so that you can more easily find the sections you’re most interested in; it has a new, easier-to-read typeface; and it has considerably more pages, so that we can bring you even more news and information about Scotch Family activities.

Size, shape and colour are important aspects of a magazine: content is another. This edition covers the full gamut of Scotch life from Prep through to Year 12 and beyond. There is a major feature on the Junior School, which includes the boys’ own views on Scotch life. There is a heartfelt tribute to Nathan Francis, the Year 9 boy who tragically died while on a Cadet bivouac earlier this year. We celebrate the academic achievements of our boys, and rejoice with our rowers, who’ve made it four Head of the River successes in a row. As always we look in detail at Old Boys’ activities.

I hope you like the new look Great Scot and I welcome your comments.
