A full and successful series of practice matches set the Scotch Old Boys’ Soccer Club on the right path for a successful 2007 season.
Matches were played against arch-rivals Old Melbourne, as well as Moreland United, Riversdale and South Yarra, as preludes to the season opener, which at the time of writing was in some doubt because of the continuing drought.
Off the field, the club has the usual array of social events in the pipeline. This included an open day at the Toorak Bowls Club, where players, partners and supporters, all barefoot, rolled down the jack with one hand while nursing a sausage in the other.
If you’re interested in joining the club, we’re looking for players of any ability, from social to ultra-competitive. SOBSC is fortunate to have a fabulous group of members derived from Scotch College and the wider community. All are welcome; so if you’re interested, training is on Wednesday nights, with match days on Saturday afternoons. For more information, speak to either of our coaching staff – Eamonn Beamish on 0410 589 536 or Philip Grant on 0401 778 458.
