More than 300 Junior School students, siblings, staff and parents braved the wettest day of the year to participate in the ‘Frisbee afternoon’ held during term 2 on the Junior School oval. The afternoon was supported by the Scotch College Foundation which supplied the BBQ, bags of jelly sweets for each participant, and various prizes for the winners of each section. Dr Alan Watkinson, the Director of Development at the time, was on hand to assist with judging and prize giving.
Organised by current parent and Foundation Board member Andrew Sutherland (’85), the afternoon was a memorable event where the young people were able to show their artistically painted Frisbees, and demonstrate their Frisbee throwing skills to all.
Once again, thanks must go to the Head of Junior Art, Priscilla Williams, for her enthusiasm in the project, to the Acting Head of Junior School, Mr Grant Phillips, for his patience and exceptional organising skills in arranging the various competitions for the students and siblings, and the many parents who gave of their time to assist with the welcome, the games, the BBQ duties and finally the tidy up.
