The head of the History Department at Scotch, Dr Mark Johnston, is currently researching his eighth book on Australia in World War II. This one concerns the RAAF in the war against Japan.
Many Scotch Collegians served in the RAAF against Japan and he would love to borrow any letters, diaries or memoirs they wrote. If you can help, please send your material to him at this address:

Old Scotch Collegian Flight-Sergeant Ian Callister (’40) flew Spitfires in the Pacific. He was the first member of his squadron to shoot down a Japanese aircraft, but soon afterwards was killed at the age of 21.
