Words: Mr Mike Lin
In January the club travelled to Adelaide to follow the Tour Down Under and Lance Armstrong’s return to the pro tour peloton.
More and more people are discovering that riding a road bike can be the perfect counterpoint to our cosseted and quick-fix modern lives.
The Old Scotch Cycling Club caters for riders of all levels and ages who share a passion for cycling. We run fortnightly rides either down Beach Road or in the Dandenongs.
OSCC rides are always casual and we never drop anyone, so please put one of our rides in your diary and join us.
We also have a new website which maps out our club rides up until July, and also a calendar of social events to tie in with this year’s Giro D’Italia and Tour De France.
For those interested in becoming involved in cycling we recommend Podium Bike Hub in Williamstown. Three-time Olympic rowing gold medallist Drew Ginn (’92) and the Podium team provide great service, expert advice and the best brands at competitive prices. Additionally, OSCC members receive a discount on sales and servicing.
With cycling officially becoming a sport at Scotch in 2009, the club invites all cyclists from the Scotch Family to visit our website and sign up. Membership also includes an embroidered club team cycling cap.
