Junior School mentoring is a program that has been coordinated by Mr Glover to assist boys in Year 9 to develop their leadership skills. It also offers them the opportunity to contribute to the school that has supported them so much. More than 60 boys applied to be part of the program. The boys were placed into groups of four and were rotated each week. The groups went to the Junior School where they were partnered with Year 4 boys and assisted them in classes such as Design Technology.
From a student’s point of view, the program is a great way to assist the younger Scotch boys. It allows the Year 9 boys to engage in one of the many different programs and opportunities our school has to offer. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of this program as it reminded me of the time when I was a young student in the Junior School. It was a great feeling to give something back to the school that has given me so much. Mr Glover and Mr Prior should be congratulated for their insight in offering the mentoring program to Year 9. I encourage all boys interested to participate in this rewarding program in the future. GS
