More than 300 students, teachers and parents charged the atmosphere of the Geoffrey McComas Theatre as they witnessed a never-seen-before event at Scotch College: a dance competition between the Scotch dance crew Tekagen Zero, and the hip-hop trained Lauriston girls.
The event was held to raise money for the Oaktree Foundation. With a guest performance from Scotch Band Negative Feedback, the crowd was given plenty to cheer about as they watched the adrenaline-pumping routines, showcasing months, sometimes years of hard work, and the talent of both schools’ dancers. Standouts were Scotch’s unique Marionette show and the freestyle session.
In the end, Scotch was declared the superior crew. The event raised nearly $850. We would like to thank Candice Rosslind, the Drama department, and Mr Byrnes and Mr Batty (both of whom were in attendance) for their help and support. GS
