Making their mark in the world.
WORDS: MR DAVID BROWN – HEAD OF YEAR 12 IN 2010
Thushan Hettige (Yr 12), Michael Li (Yr 12), Conway Gu (Yr 12), Mr David Brown, James Snell (‘10), Mitchell Wong (‘10), Edward Cliff (‘10)
Seven VCE Study Awards were made to boys from Scotch College in recognition of their success in the Victorian Certificate of Education in 2010. Scotch is very proud to have so many boys in this select group.
These awards are made to the top group of students in each subject based on the individual graded assessment scores, the number of recipients being proportional to the number of enrolments in that study (normally a subset of those who gain 50).
At the awards ceremony, the Premier paid tribute to the individuals, but also to the schools, teachers and parents who played an invaluable role in supporting and encouraging the students in their VCE studies. The recipients were encouraged to pursue further study in whatever they found interesting, and to go on to make their mark on the world.
Edward Cliff was one of the top two students for Victoria in the 2010 VCE. He received his Australian Students Prize from the Minister for Education, the Hon Peter Garrett at a ceremony in Canberra. Australian Student Prizes were also awarded to Harrison Fenton, Charlie Wang, Ian Wang and Mitchell Wong, all from the Class of 2010. GS
