Cross curricular artist - Julian Collins

Mr Julian Collins teaches Science, Geography, Drama and Art in Year 7, is a specialist in Botany, and is known for his impromptu cartoons in class, and staff portraits in The Scotch Collegian.

Now his painting talent is on exhibition, at the Fitzroy Gallery, Fitzroy, 27 November to 11 December, featuring a series of Expressionist portraits and nudes.

The Scotch community will recognise and enjoy three staff portraits: Lt Col Neville Taylor (Cadet Wing), Mr Jim van Dort (retiring LOTE teacher), and Terry Wheeler (Scotch Football). Each portrait captures the magic and special dignity of each person, leaving the viewer with a vivid impression of a uniquely 'colourful' character. He paints with a sensuous beauty.
