It was in 1959 that, under the guidance of Frank Stuckey ('18-'24), by then a master at Scotch, the Tennis Club was formed to play competitive matches in the Grammarians and Public Schools Tennis Association (now known as the Past Students' Tennis Association).
In the club's second year, 1960, the club won three premierships, as Frank had vowed, and now heads the list of premierships in the association, since its entry 40 years ago.
It also developed a very enthusiastic group of social players, who meet on Saturday afternoons at the school courts. ALL ARE WELCOME!
The celebration of these 40 years was held in the Boykett Room (Cardinal Pavilion) during April, with Frank invited to be the keynote speaker, and long time player, Ken McDiarmid proposing the Toast to 'Our Club'.
The banquet was held under the guidance of President, Colin Simpson, with entertainment provided by an outstanding magician and yet another 'farewell' reappearance of the 'THREE TENNIS' tenors, led by Neil Roberts.
