The 1999 football season has drawn to a close, with only the Club XVIII successful in making the finals, finishing the season in the third position. Unfortunately they lost to Old Brighton in the first semi final.
After 18 completed rounds the results are Seniors 7 wins, Reserves 5 wins, U19s 5 wins. It has been a very difficult year, with long term injuries to key players depleting the senior team's playing strength. Also we have had the added problem of not being able to use the Camberwell Sports Ground due to extensive ground improvements being undertaken during the winter months. However, on a positive note the senior team won sufficient games for the Club to remain in A Section of the VAFA, and the Year 2000 will be the Club's 20th consecutive year in the top section of amateur football.
During the season a number of players reached significant playing milestones - Tom Wilson 150 games, Campbell Heath, Heath Middleton, James Paterson, Steve Pryde and Nick Tribe 100 games, and the following players reached 50 games - Matt Angus, Steve Collins, Tim Frankenberg, Luke Hawkins, Matt O'Brien, Steve Prendergast, Nick Sladen and David Thomas.
Old Scotch had three of their senior players, Steve Collins, Steve Hume and Tim Holt selected in the VAFA team which played a combined Victorian Country Football League Team on 25 July at Shell Stadium, Geelong.
Vote Count and Presentation Night was held at the Camberwell Sports Ground on 27 August.
