Old Boys Lodge Night coming

The Old Scotch Lodge will hold its annual Old Boys’ Night at its May 2002 Meeting on Thursday 2 May, 2002, in the Camberwell Masonic Centre, Prospect Hill Rd, Camberwell at 7.30pm. All Old Boys who are Freemasons are especially welcome. A fun night is planned with plenty of time to ‘catch up’.

Following the Installation of our new Master, Rob Brelaz (’49) in early November last. Members and their wives had a great Christmas Dinner function later in November, in the Boykett room at Scotch, followed at our December meeting by a visit from Father Christmas, who collected the many toys donated by members for the under privileged children.

Unfortunately WB Rob Brelaz was ‘out of action’ in the early part of 2002 following an eye operation. All members wished Rob a speedy recovery, and he expected to be ‘back in action’ very soon. Our February Meeting involved an informative Question and Answer Quiz on Freemasonry, organised by Keith Weymouth (’44) and presented by Ian Picken (’65). We were also delighted to welcome Malcolm Shepherd (’54) as a joining member, together with John Edwards (’53) who has rejoined us at the Lodge. The April meeting will be the first degree ceremony demonstration by the members, including the Stewards.

A Picnic Race Day outing for the members and their families is being held at Yarra Glen on Sunday 3 March, 2002, followed in April by a family BBQ at ‘Farmer’ Brelaz’s country estate, in Nilma North. The ladies of the Lodge have a Film Luncheon being arranged for May.

The Old Scotch Lodge meets on the first Thursday of the month in the Camberwell Masonic Centre. All Freemasons are welcome. Enquiries about the Lodge and Freemasonry from Old Boys are welcome at any time. Contact Brian Horman,
