Old Boys active in Hockey Club

The Hockey Club continues to go from strength to strength. The Club fields State League 1, Pennant A and Pennant C, teams plus seven other teams in the men’s division (not counting two veterans teams) as well as six women’s teams and in excess of thirty junior teams.

The club is still attracting former players back to play in its senior division or veterans teams and it is rumoured that Roger Tallent, (School Hockey Captain 1973 and 1974) will make a return to the Club this year.

The Club is fielding a team in the World Masters in October which includes past President, Ian Shimmin (‘75).

Sadly Neil Duncan (‘52 ) one of the Club’s Life Members (who also played for Australia) passed away prior to Christmas.

The Club has two synthetic grounds on Auburn Road and is having preliminary discussions in respect to installing a third ground.

Congratulations to Tim Strapp (year 12), Robin Elder and Matthew Goldberg, who were recently selected in the Victorian Under 18 team.

Andrew Hodder (‘87) will again captain this year’s State League 1 side. Andrew was a state representative for over ten years.

Darren Duff our Vice-Captain is currently Vice-Captain of the Victorian Redbacks teams.

The Club welcomes new members as well as former and older members who wish to resume playing.
