OSCA Sponsorship

As part of the Old Scotch Collegians Association (OSCA) strategic review at the end of 2002, it was determined new revenue streams needed to be identified to ensure that OSCA could provide greater assistance to the school and effectively keep in touch with its Old Boy network.

A reinvigorated Annual Giving program, a pavers program in the second half of the year, and sponsorship will all be introduced to OSCA's program in 2003 to improve its financial position.

OSCA has approached many businesses that currently have a relationship with the School with a sponsorship proposal and the offer has been exceptionally well received. Different packages offering various features and benefits for partners are targeted at different businesses, depending on their size and nature.

New Oak Ford have committed to a Platinum package which provides them with advertising space in Great Scot and on the OSCAnet website, and promotion at this year's OSCA Annual Dinner, luncheons, breakfasts and reunions. We look forward to a long and mutually benefiting relationship with Old Scotch legend Jim Ireland and Dealer Principal John Byrne. If you are looking for a new Ford or a new pre-owned car please give John and his team the opportunity of earning your business. All Scotch Family customers will receive an advanced driving course at the John Bowe Advanced Driving School, so please introduce yourself as a member of the Scotch family if you visit the showroom at Ferntree Gully Road in Oakleigh.

Stillwell BMW have formalized their already strong relationship with the School by committing to a Silver package. Great Scot advertising and OSCAnet exposure are part of this package, as is some exposure at the OSCA Annual Dinner, luncheons, breakfasts and reunions.

Craftsman Press have come on board as a Silver level sponsor. The School has had a long relationship with Craftsman Press (a member of the Blue Star Print Group), the business that has designed and printed Great Scot and The Collegian for many years along with an array of other publications for the school.

The Golf Club have committed to a Silver package and we are delighted to welcome 1974 School Captain Murray Hey and his team on board as a sponsor in 2003. You will have received an application for a prospectus regarding their exciting St Andrews Golf Club project at Gunamatta. The Golf Club will assist in the sponsoring of this year's Old Scotch Golf Day on Friday 11 April at Long Island Country Club.

Travelrite have offices based in Balwyn, Heathmont and Croydon and can assist with individual or group travel bookings. Please see their advertisement in this edition of Great Scot for further information.

As a result of obtaining sponsorship in 2003, OSCA has been able to subsidise the price of tickets to the Annual Dinner for Young Old Boys (YOBS) who have left Scotch within the last five years. It will provide financial support as well as administrative support to the Old Scotch Clubs and increased its commitment to The Students Assistance Fund and will be able to meet our commitments to the completion of the James Forbes Academy.

We still have packages available for anyone else who is interested. Please contact

Tim Shearer on 98104302 or email tim.shearer@scotch.vic.edu.au if you would like to obtain more information.
