Ben Shearer (Senior and Junior School Staff 1980-1994) (pictured above). Those 'in the know' have recently seen well known free-lance painter Ben's marvellous exhibition of 40 plus paintings on the theme "Along the Burke and Wills Track" at the Axia Modern Art Gallery, 1010 High St, Armadale.
Unfortunately this sell-out exhibition will be finished by the time Great Scot is published, but Melbourne's misfortune will be Sydney's gain for Ben is completing a fresh set of paintings on the same theme.
The exhibition will open at Australian Art Resources Gallery, 124 Jersey Rd, Woollahra. (Ph) (02) 9363 3063 on May 15 for a fortnight. Don't miss it!!
Julian Collins (Senior School Staff, 1993 - ), currently on leave, is putting the finishing touches to exhibitions featuring landscapes of Point Nepean scenes. The first exhibition will be at the Theatrette, Point Nepean from 7 April to 21 April, to be followed by Four Cats Gallery, 269 Johnston St, Abbotsford from 30 April to 9 May.

R.A.W. (Bob) Wade ('49) OAM was commended for his work in watercolour painting. Bob had recently finished a commission by members of Flinders Golf Club of a painting to be presented by them to their Club to celebrate its centenary. There are some older Golf Clubs in Victoria, but Flinders is the second oldest still on its original site: second to the Geelong Golf Club. Many Victorian Clubs are proud to display the Bob Wade paintings of their particular course. Those who attend the Ken Field Memorial Art Shows held at Scotch College will be very familiar with Bob's paintings.
Geoffrey S Green ('51) OAM RFD ED received his award for social service in the Jewish community.
The whole Scotch College family joins in congratulating these two Old Scotch Collegians on their awards and recognises the years of service which led to them.
