David Crawford |
David has had an extensive involvement with Scotch since commencing in Year 7 in 1956. In his final year at Scotch, in 1962, he was a Prefect, a member of the 1st XI and 1st XVIII and a Troop leader in the Scouts.
After Scotch, he was a resident at Ormond College and completed a law degree at the University of Melbourne. He played cricket, football and tennis for Old Scotch clubs and served on the OSCA Council for many years, including as President in 1987. He and his father, Frank ('25) are the only father and son to have had this distinction.
David's son, Andrew ('89) attended Scotch and is now working as a lawyer in London.
David has had an outstanding business career and presently is Chairman of Lend Lease Corporation and a Director of BHP Billiton, Foster's Group, Westpac Banking Corporation and National Foods.
He also has had close involvement with sport.
As well as being Treasurer of the Melbourne Cricket Club, he was the author of reports on Australian Football and Soccer which led to seminal changes in administration.
In spite of his busy life, David is still able to serve his old School with distinction.
