Grant, McKenzie, Teague

The Vietnam War Study is gathering momentum and the scope of the project is become clearer.

Pictured L to R: Vaughan Grant ('84), George McKenzie ('48) and Ian Teague ('52)

Pat Holdaway (staff) collated a smorgasbord of information regarding Old Boys and their involvement in the Vietnam War. It was determined to use this wonderful resource in a meaningful way that would satisfy the following objectives:

  • Provide a unique educational experience for year 9 boys in 2003
  • Deliver a vibrant and engaging library display
  • Honour Old Boys in a Memorial Hall service

A team of current staff (Pat Holdaway, Mark Johnston, Pauline Westmore, Ron Anderson, Bruce Brown, Norm Bain and Suzette Boyd) have been working with a team of Old Boys (Ian Teague, George McKenzie and Vaughan Grant) to deliver this exciting project.

We have identified over 50 Old Boys who had some involvement in the Vietnam War,but we are sure that there are more we haven't heard from. If you would like to discuss your war-time involvement and be part of this study please contact Tim Shearer on 9810 4302 or via email tim.shearer@scotch.vic.edu.au.

2003 is sure to be an exciting year for Year 9 students and Old Boys who were involved in the Vietnam War.
