The clock is a one-off design. It is made from matched Redgum 'Birdseye' panels, French polished with an aged Patina to suit the period. The design of the clock incorporates several features of the School's landscape, the most noticeable being the eastern roof line of the Memorial Hall at the top of the clock.
The design of the clock emanates from early 1800 Scottish 'Bookface' design and has a German precision movement timepiece and features three different chimes (which can be silenced). The clock also has an automatic night shut-off and phases of the moon and an eight day program.
The manufacture of this wonderful piece has been the result of a three way partnership between the Scotch College Grounds Department, the Scotch College Maintenance Department and Gordon Lanman Fine Furniture.
The clock can be inspected in the Scotch College Development Office (Morrison St, Hawthorn) during School office hours where offers can be made. Funds raised support the McLeod Club, which supports the development of cricket at Scotch College.
