Bowls Club chases championship

The Old Scotch Bowls club has commenced the 2005/6 season in earnest, with the major objective of regaining the championship of the Public School old Boys’ Bowls tournament.

However, we didn’t start the season too well by going down to Kew Heights by 70 shots, but did then redeem ourselves to an extent by winning against Balwyn by nine shots. regrettably, Kew Heights failed to have a side in our return game so we played a practice match among ourselves to prepare for the clash against old Melburnians in which we took the honours by defeating them by 25 shots.

This season we give a hearty welcome to new members – Bill McNaughton (’55) and Michael Macneil (’50), and trust they have a long and happy association with us.

Although we average about 24 bowlers each game, we offer an invitation to bowlers in general who are members of the Scotch Family to join us in our happy social competitive atmosphere.
