Earlier this year the Cardinal Club donated $3000 towards new weights for the gymnasium within the Cardinal Pavilion.
At a recent meeting of the Cardinal Committee it was agreed to donate an additional $6600 for extra weights and gymnasium requirements. This money was raised by the Cardinal Club through social functions and reflects the growing level of support that the Cardinal Club has within the Scotch rowing community.
The Cardinal Club will also be donating $4000 towards the new electric BBQ gazebo facility within the newly landscaped grounds surrounding the Cardinal Pavilion. This will prove to be a wonderful amenity for all those associated with the Boat Shed.
The Cardinal Club will be supporting Scotch Rowing during 1998 and will be holding various social functions aimed at raising money and allowing parents of rowing students to meet each other.
The equipment has already contributed to success on the river. Rowing in their first regatta of the season, the 1st VIII scored a comfortable win in the final of the Intermediate VIII at the Yarra Yarra Regatta.
