Drew Ginn ('92) now has a complete set of World Rowing Championship medallions, after winning gold and silver medals in Cologne.
Drew, who won and Olympic gold medal in 1996 and a bronze medal at last year's World Championships, won gold in the coxed four event and silver in the coxless pair event.
The coxed four event saw the 'Awesome Foursome' comfortably win their heat and go on to win the final by nearly 4 seconds from Croatia and Italy.
In the pair event, the crew had to come through the repecharges and semi finals, before finishing 2nd to Germany, with Yugoslavia 3rd and the USA 4th.
These results confirm Drew's status as one of the world's leading oarsmen. The Scotch community congratulates Drew and is pleased to learn that he has joined the Scotch coaching panel and is contributing to the sport at school with his involvement with Year 10 students.
Congratulations to Tim Widmer ('92) on his crew's 4th place at the World Junior Rowing Championships at Ottensheim in Austria.
