Old Scotch Bowls awards

It would be fair to say that the season has been a pleasant and enjoyable one, culminating on the field with three wins and eight losses, but overall an active year. Perhaps we could say a great social year.

Our fifteen players against the West Brighton Club brought the trophy back to Old Scotch.

Our Annual Luncheon was held in the Boykett Room, Cardinal Pavilion with the highlight being the passing of the 150th Year Celebratory Torch between all guests whilst seated at their respective dining tables.

In addition, we presented our inaugural Life Membership plaque to Keith Wilson ('26) which was followed by also presenting a Life Membership plaque to Oxley Jones ('30) both of whom have played a vital part in the establishment of the club on the field as well as administratively.

This year's P.S.O.B. Tournament was won by Caulfield Grammar followed by equal second Carey, Wesley and Scotch.

The Oxley Jones Trophy for the Best Team Player was won by Max Frew ('37) with thirty-six points and Lindsay Tallent ('43) being Runner-up with thirty-four points.

The Committee for the ensuing season will be:

President - Manson Russel ('48), Secretary - Miller Goodwin ('47), Treasurer - John Porter ('39), Committee - Bruce Appleton ('53), John Leckie ('38), John Potts ('47) Alex Stewart ('49), Boyard Taft ('29).
