Au revoir Philippe, but bonjour to more Top Chefs in Semester 2.
The Semester One Top Chefs Cookery Classes got off to a wonderful but sad start as we farewelled Philippe Mouchel, one of the most popular chefs in the cooking demonstration program since its instigation in 1996, at his last Melbourne class before departing for Japan.
Be sure to book early to secure your place in the Semester Two classes which promise fine chefs and a wide range of interesting food and wine.
Semester One has been a bumper time also for the after hours Language Classes for both adult learners, and school students keen to improve their conversational skills.
Classes are offered in Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese and Spanish and run from 7.00-9.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday evenings during school terms for adults, and from 4.00pm for school students.
More fascinating Cultural Studies will be on offer in Semester Two, this time a series embracing aspects of old and contemporary Spain.
These are new in 2002 and well worth attending, judging by the enthusiasm of the participants in the Semester One Paris series. Enjoy a glass of wine as you journey through Spain with slides, music, stories and readings.
To enjoy these language, cultural and culinary offerings in the comfort of the Language & Culture Centre, phone 9810 4407 to obtain the Semester Two, 2002 brochure with details and enrolment forms.
