At the beginning of 2003, Scotch welcomed nine new boys to Year 11. Coming from a diverse range of backgrounds, these boys quickly adapted to the challenge and enjoyment of Senior School.
Wilfred Hanafi hails from Indonesia and has completed several years of schooling in Singapore.
Sam Mackintosh has just completed a number of years in a School in the USA, and is living in McMeckan House. Xavier Murtagh, who is interested in speech and drama, and whose brother attended Scotch, moved from the Scots School in Albury and boards in School House.
Philip Babitsky has not made an enormous shift from either interstate or overseas; he spent Years 7 to 10 at De La Salle College, but felt he would like to complete his senior studies at Scotch.

Fraser Cahill, whose father and brothers attended Scotch, moved from Girton Grammar in Bendigo. He resides in School House.
Brett Diedrich made a last-minute decision to shift from St Joseph's College in Echuca after determining that he wanted to finish his Senior School here at Scotch. He boards in Arthur Robinson House.
Christopher Girgis has returned to Scotch after two years at Malvern College, UK, and has settled back very well.
Patrick Sia followed in his brother's footsteps and moved from Indonesia to study at Scotch. He is boarding in McMeckan House.
Nikola Josevski spent the first four years of secondary school at Erinbank Secondary College but has chosen Scotch to complete his studies. He plays water polo at a state and national level. Recently at a morning tea he summed up the boys' collective comments: "This School is competitive and it makes students study hard to achieve high grades. It is fun but it can all get a bit much at times. I have to balance my training, my family and friends very carefully. Scotch College is going to give me an opportunity to achieve my goals in the next two years."
We welcome these new boys and trust their time here is challenging, enjoyable and an experience they treasure.
