Scotch was exceptionally lucky at the end of Term Two when Junior School parents Robert and Kathy Littlewood generously donated through their sons (Marcus, Year 5 and James, Year 3) two beautiful and unusual prints by Pro Hart to the School. Marcus and James presented the prints to the School at a special Assembly in the Junior School where they will be on display for the rest of the year before finding a more permanent home 'down the hill'.
Robert and Kathy, who own Lyttewode Press in South Melbourne, have been recent exhibitioners at the Ken Field Art Show, and will have a range of works on display this year at the Show which opens on 10 October. They are also currently engaged in producing a magnificent Limited Edition Collectors' Folio of a number of prints by John Shirlow, former Art Master at the College and, in many ways, the 'father' of printmaking in Australia. Proceeds from the sale of this exceptional collection of prints (including an original of the early Hawthorn site for Scotch) will go to the School through the Foundation. This is yet another example of philanthropy in action which underpins the rich heritage of Scotch College.
