Many hands make life work

Wilfred A Peterson’s quote reminds us that we each have the power within to reach out to others through service and friendship, and that through our actions others can benefit from all that we are prepared to give of ourselves.

The Junior School has a very active Student Representative Council and a solid core of student leaders. It is often through the initiative of these students that Social Service activities are formulated and implemented.

In addition to raising money for many wonderful causes in the wider community, connections have also been established with the Ewing Memorial Uniting Church through the former Headmaster of the Junior School, Mr Garth Tapp, and the Highgrove Retirement Village in Kew, where students have performed musical items and spent time with many appreciative new friends. It is hoped that these connections will continue to develop over the years to come.

I commend the boys of the Junior School for their thoughtfulness and generosity when it comes to helping those in need, and trust that through their involvement in service activities the boys will continue to reach out into the wider world with open hands.
