Jill Spargo is one of two newly appointed members of the School Council. Jill is a medical practitioner, and works in general practice in Richmond.
She was educated at St Leonard's Presbyterian Girls' College and Melbourne Girls' Grammar School. She graduated from Melbourne University and worked at St Vincent's Hospital and several London hospitals prior to commencing general practice in 1983.
Jill and her husband Stephen have boys in both the Junior and Senior Schools. Matt is presently in Year 12 and is this year's School Vice-Captain and Nicholas is in Year 5. Their daughter, Louise, is in Year 8 at Lauriston.
Jill's association with Scotch goes back a long way. Her father, Russell Coutie ('32) and brother Leigh ('69) attended the school. In recent years she has served on the Junior School Parents' Association (1993-1995) and has been a Class Representative on a number of occasions.
Jill is a keen golfer and plays netball regularly. On weekends she dons the work-boots when the family travels to their property at Ceres near Geelong. They have a small hereford stud and some horses. The gardening is done by the family's two young labradors.
