'Communicate effectively for success'

Rob Smith, Stephen Quartermain
and Mark Zannoni

Communication skills are essential for success in both private and professional life, according to one of Melbourne’s best-known communicators.

Addressing the Year 11s in the David McNicoll Lecture, Stephen Quartermain (of Network 10 and 3MMM) discussed this topic in relation to his own career as a professional journalist. He engaged his audience effectively and the feedback from the boys was extremely positive.

Stephen was the latest in a line of illustrious McNicoll Lecture speakers, including Eddie McGuire, Peter Mitchell and Rex Hunt. The theme of the lecture is the Importance of Communication in Contemporary Society.

The tradition will continue in 2005 with another well-known speaker addressing the issue of communication.
