Lodge starts exciting New Year

Lodge

Grand Master John Evans, left.

With the Installation of Bruce Symon (’45) into the Chair of King Solomon as the incoming Master of the Old Scotch Masonic Lodge on 4 November 2004, the Lodge was ready for its 2005 year. Bruce becomes the 80th Master of the Lodge, and maintains the 79-year OSCL tradition (with one exception during the war years) of never having ‘re-cycled’ a previous Master of our Lodge. Bruce’s Installation and Investiture of his Officers, was carried out with splendid ceremony by RWor. Bro. John Maynard, SGW (’56) and a current Grand Lodge Team, including the current Grand Master, MWor. Bro. John Evans, who is also the President of the Caulfield Grammar School Council, and Barry White (’58), Grand Standard Bearer. Several Old Scotch Country Branch members also attended. Like Stuart McArthur (’89), the retiring Master, Bruce is going to have a very exciting year with new Candidates, several Members moving up, and a range of social activities.

Bill Tingate.
