Wilson Zhang |
Whether it's in academic or music studies, Wilson Zhang is proving to be one of Scotch's top current students, and the accolades just keep coming his way.
Wilson, who is currently completing his VCE studies in Year 12, has received many prizes and awards in recognition of his formidable academic and musical ability. For example, he is the current recipient of the 2004 Monash Prize, an award made by Monash University to the dux of Year 11 at a number of Victorian schools. It carries a cash prize and an additional sum if Wilson chooses to study at Monash next year.
Wilson also received a Premier's Award for his perfect score of 50 in Music (Solo Performance) last year. The Premier's Award recognises the most able students and their outstanding achievements in VCE studies.
Added to these achievements was his selection in the Top Class Music category of the Season of Excellence 2004, n initiative by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority that highlights the remarkable talents of arts and music students across Victoria. He participated in a concert at the Iwaki Auditorium, Southbank, and brought great credit to himself and his School.
What makes Wilson's achievement all the more significant is his perfect score in Mathematical Methods as well, in Year 11! There is no doubt he is well on track for a successful conclusion to his secondary studies. He is an outstanding student, and one of whom Scotch College can be proud.
