A small but very enthusiastic group of 19 Old Boys and partners got together in Kerang for the NorthWestern Branch dinner – with some of those attending having participated in the inaugural branch dinner in 1962.

Dick Peel, Peter Hare, Ron McFarlane, David Ettershank, Gregor McDonald, John Knight, and Michael and Peter Hawthorne were at both dinners.
David Mark, Lake Boga policeman and champion shooter (brother of Russell Mark, Olympic gold medallist) spoke well on excellence in sport, dedication and the practice required to get to the top. Gregor McDonald’s son, Richard, was in the successful Head of the River crew in the following week.
The Scotch/Melbourne Grammar match in 1953 and 1954 resulted in 2 spectacular wins to Scotch. In 1953 Scotch came from 6 goals down at 1/2 time to win by 2 goals, and 1954 was an easy win. These games, 50 years ago, were celebrated with a luncheon at Melbourne Grammar on Friday 14 May. 22 of those 38 who played in the 1953-54 games were at the luncheon, with many apologies.
Ken Smalley, Ron Chambers, Graham Whitford, Neil Permezel, Clive Sinnott, Dick Tindale, Jack Sennitt, Peter Russell, John Foubister, Michael Morrison, Stan Lacy, Peter Anderson, Bob Grant, Graham Sellars-Jones, Rob McLellan, Dick Hatherly, John Smith, Mike and John Winneke, Brian Cossar, Ian Morrison and Gus Hawthorne were present at the celebration.
Apologies were received from Chook Fowler, Charles Langley, Mike Edgar, Tony Radford, Basil Benjamin, Ian Law, Peter Ashley and Neil Scott.
Everyone was in good shape – still alive, but not all kicking a football! The two sides were coached by Faf Fleming and Occka Ferris.
Hopefully everyone will be present at the Reunion Dinner on Friday 12th November, at Scotch in the Boykett Room.
In what we believe to be a groundbreaking move, 111 members of the Scotch and MLC families gathered at the Mornington Golf Club on the balmy autumn evening of 12 March. Guest speaker, Ms Rosa Storelli, Principal of MLC, provided an interesting, entertaining and thought provoking address. The
Toast to the School was ably proposed by 2003 School Captain Michael Starke, and equally well responded to by Vice-Principal Ian Savage.
The organising committees from both Scotch and MLC did a great job in coordinating the event and ensuring its success.
