Anzac Day March ñ The first performance of the year, the Band puts their skills to the test in a march down the main street in Melbourne towards the Shrine of Remembrance. Although the band is there to remember the fallen, and to have fun, itís also competing for the Junior Marching Band competition held each year during the march. The band also has a cameo appearance on ABC Television.
Primary Schools Tour ñ One Friday a year, the band hang up the school blazer and don the red scarlet for a daily trip to several Victorian Primary Schools. The day encompasses several musical numbers as well as several solo performances by various sections of the band, including the infamous Drum Corps.
Foundation Day Concert ñ In 1851, Scotch College was founded, and in celebration, the Scotch College Military Band presents a piece to an audience of several thousand to celebrate this special occasion, and to show off their hard work during the year. This performance shows the bands skills at their best, and how much the band can do in such a small space of time.
Cadet Tattoo ñ Each year in November, the Scotch College Cadet Unit has its Cadet Tattoo on the Scotch College Main Oval. Here, the band performs in front of an audience in the hundreds, then moving off to support the rest of the Cadet Unit in their show of rifle drill. The Band performs several pieces and also participates in the formal retreat ceremony, which takes place after the main unit drill presentation.
