Colours are awarded as a recognition of merit by the Colours Committee.
Heads of Houses issue the order forms for the colours.
Boys who are awarded School Colours wear the following

Full Colours |
The full pocket with the motto in gold letters on a plain (cardinal) background with the emblem in gold. |

Half Colours |
The special pocket with the emblem of the Burning Bush and the award in silver. |
The following emblems (1 cm.high) will be worn:
School Sport on the bottom of the pocket;
House awards on the House Strip on the top of the pocket;
other school awards are to be on the side of the pocket.
Basketball, Cricket, Cross Country, Football, Hockey, Rugby, Soccer, Tennis.
Full Colours may be awarded to boys who compete in a minimum of 80% of official matches designated Scotch matches in first teams.
Half Colours may be awarded to boys who compete in a minimum of 80% of officially designated Scotch matches in First and/or Seconds teams.
Badminton, Gymnastics, Volleyball, Squash, Table Tennis, Water Polo, Winter Tennis.
Colours, both Full and Half, may be awarded on a very selective basis for these Group B Sports.
Full Colours may be awarded to members of the First Crew at the Head of the River regatta and to Year 12 students who are members of the Second Crew at the Head of the River.
Half Colours may be awarded to members of the Second Crew at the Head of the River regatta, and to Year 12 students who are members of Open crews at the Head of the River.
Full Colours may be awarded to Open and U17 competitors at the Associated Public Schools Sports.
Half Colours may be awarded to Open and U17 emergencies at the Associated Public Schools Sports.
Full Colours may be awarded to competitors who swim in a mininum of 80% of all Scotch meetings in a given season including the APS finals.
Half Colours may be awarded to competitors who swim in a minimum of 50% of all Scotch meetings in a given season.
These Colours may be awarded to boys who provide outstanding service in the administration of our School sporting programme.
1. The ultimate decision rests with the Director of Sport in consultation with the Teacher in Charge of each particular sport and the Coach of the First Team.
2. Re-Awards - Colours can be re-awarded to boys.
3. Special consideration will be given to boys who are injured or suffer illness during the season.
The very special trophy of Triple Colours is awarded to senior boys in Year 12 who have earned Full Colours in Summer, Winter and Athletics Seasons, and demonstrated the desired leadership in those relevant sports during the year.
Available to those Year 12 boys who are not awarded Colours but have given special service to their team in terms of attitude and effort. The decision to award is made by the Coach, Director of Sport, and Teacher in Charge of that Sport.

A boy who has been awarded full colours in one activity and half colours in another, may wear the appropriate emblems on the full colour blazer pocket, but may not wear both the full and half colour emblems of the same activity.
