Director of Sport

Mr Barry Price

What is sport at Scotch College?

Sport at Scotch College is about the involvement of our boys in a myriad of activities over three distinct periods of the school year. It is about striving to improve as individuals within the team framework, However, it is also about forming friendships, developing sportsmanship, improving self esteem, self discipline, understanding teamwork, physical fitness and enjoying our unique Scotch school spirit.

Scotch philosopy

We believe that all individuals under our care have the potential to be relatively successful and therefore enjoy their chosen sport. As coaches we must create the right environment for skill development and improved self esteem. Success should be judged on whether a boy is a better player, team member and person for having been involved with the team for the season.

Scotch Sport Philosophy

Sports offered

Boys are given a sports selection form prior to summer and winter seasons and make a preferred and second choice. For the athletics squad approximately 100 boys are selected.

Sun protection policy

Due to the danger of ultra-violet rays, boys participating outdoors in the summer sports are required to wear a hat or cap and to apply 'sunblock' to exposed areas of the body.
