Year 4 Program:

Unit of Study:

We begin 2013 by welcoming 26 new boys to our year level. We focus this term on building relationships, and establishing routines and structures that will enable us to work and play positively throughout the year. Emphasis is placed on helping the boys get to know each other, and giving them the opportunity to work and play with a variety of partners from across the three classes. Social skills activities, Interclass activities and regular class work all provide these opportunities to establish new friendships and to learn with and from each other. Our Integrated unit this term is on the topic ‘New Beginnings’. As well as our transition program activities, we will learn about the First Fleet and the effects of their ‘new beginning’ on the local Aboriginal population. An intensive swimming program in weeks 2 and 3, House ‘Rapid Fire Cricket’ and Swimming competitions will also provide fun, physical activity and skill development opportunities. It is sure to be a busy and enjoyable beginning to the year.
