Community and Business Language Classes

The Scotch College Language and Culture Centre is available beyond secondary school hours, for use by the wider community. Classes are offered at all levels from primary to adult in French, German, Italian, Indonesian, Japanese, and Mandarin Chinese. Other languages are offered if demand permits.

Groups are small, and all teachers are fully qualified and experienced. The links between language and culture are constantly stressed. Certificates are available if desired, for attendance or level reached.

Where appropriate, use is made of modern technology, including DVD's, computers, and the Internet (no previous experience required).

• General courses
  
  These focus on general conversation skills, with some reading and writing, and grammar as required. The emphasis is on enjoyable learning and meeting students' needs. These courses run on a semester basis (16 weeks) from February to June, and from July to November. Classes are held once per week, for two hours (1 hour for some secondary classes)
