The art of conversation … President’s Column

Conversation… it feels like our sons’ generation is changing the art as communication is ruled more and more by technology.

We parents know, however, that there is nothing like the power of an old fashioned conversation.Social events at Scotch provide a wonderful opportunity for us to meet and chat with the parents of the boys with whom our sons spend so many of their formative years. The development of friendship and understanding amongst the parent body is the driving-force of parent- organised functions and this edition of the Torch is solely to alert you to, and encourage you to attend, upcoming events.

On behalf of the many parents who have attended the year level cocktail parties and Auxiliary functions held during first Term, our thanks go to the Year Level and Auxiliary Representatives who have worked so hard to make these successful.

Thanks also to the families who have opened their homes for School events.

In attending events at School, and while picking up boys, we ask that all parents are mindful of the parking regulations, particularly in the adjacent residential streets. Please observe the No Standing and Permit Zone parking restrictions, which forbid not only parking, but also stopping in these areas, even if the driver does not leave the vehicle.

Best wishes for a Happy Easter and Term break.
