If we have not sold an item within two years of consignment it will be deemed to be donated.

Items can be left at Swap Shop on Wednesdays between 8-11.30am or at Scotch reception in the Randall Building.

Please print the Senior School Swap Shop Consignment Form, complete the details and attach it to your items if you wish to consign them for sale (if you are donating all items there is no need to complete the form).

Payments

Payments for clothing are credited to your school account upon sale. The Swap Shop takes a one third commission. This money is donated towards many school projects.

If your son is no longer a student please make sure you leave a correct address so a cheque can be mailed to you.

Blazers Available for Hire

Blazers are available for hire for special School events, such as photographs, debating, music performances and sporting tours.

Swap Shop charges $15 to hire a blazer for a maximum of TWO WEEKS charged to your school account at the time of hiring. If a hire blazer is not returned after two weeks, Swap Shop may charge your son’s school account $210 to cover the replacement cost of the blazer. Blazers must be returned in the same condition as when they were hired, otherwise you may be charged an additional fee for cleaning or repairs.

VCE jumpers

Each year Swap Shop organises second hand Year 12 jumpers for sale, complete with embroidery for the current year. For boys who are interested, Swap Shop will fit them to their jumper size at a nominated time, usually in October – Date, time and venue will be advertised to the Year 12 students in an assembly closer to the time. Swap Shop will then arrange for the jumper to be re-embroidered with “2014”.

There is an additional cost of $10 for this service. The cost of the jumper and embroidery will be charged to the student’s account.

If you already own a VCE jumper, Swap Shop can arrange for it to be re-embroidered with the correct year for $10, provided we receive the jumper by the last Wednesday in the school year; otherwise you will need to make your own arrangements for embroidery, through Dobsons or Bob Stewart.

Students will be notified early in Term 1 the following year when they can collect their newly embroidered jumper from Swap Shop.

No Exchange or Refunds Policy – Caveat Emptor

Swap Shop have a no exchange or refunds policy principally because a large proportion of our stock is sold on consignment. As our stock is all pre-loved sizing can be difficult and is not always the same size as once labelled by the retailer. We highly recommend that boys try on items before any purchase to avoid disappointment. The stock provide in the shop is processed by volunteers and we do our very best to provide items that are in good wearable condition, however, we cannot be held accountable should your expectations not be met after you have made a purchase.

Please select carefully.

Where Do Funds From The Swap Shop Go?

Surplus funds from Swap Shop operations support the following areas:

  • Scotch Scouts, in recognition of the formation of Swap Shop by the Scout Auxiliary
  • Small groups with limited fundraising ability
  • Projects which have the potential to benefit a wide range of students (and meet the broader educational goals of students)
  • Equipment in preference to staffing needs
  • Disadvantaged students identified by the Principal, in particular the Indigenous Students Support Fund.
  • Projects and charities already assessed and supported by the school´s broader giving program
  • Overseas students involved in the Student Exchange Program

Funding requests are directed through the Swap Shop President and are commonly for less than $3000.
