Scotch cricketers atone (a little) for Ashes defeat

Scotch hosted the Eton College XI at Scotch in beautiful weather on 28 December, determined to atone for their defeat on the hallowed Eton ground in 2004.

Scotch won the toss and elected to bat. We scored 6/188 off 50 overs, the main contributions coming from Tom Sutton (56) and Tyson Yeo (35). After a sensational lunch provided by the mothers (much appreciated by the Eton boys), it was Scotch’s turn in the field. With Tyson Yeo taking 3 for 37, Dean Scheetz 2 for 18 and Daniel Parisi 2 for 21, Eton was dismissed for 153, victory going to Scotch by 35 runs.

It was a good match played in a great spirit, with both schools looking forward to the tradition continuing. Thanks to all the parents for billeting the Eton boys; also to John Prior, Kereen Smith and the Marks family for hosting the dinner for both teams.
