Old Scotch Tennis Club members – especially those who had been players in the club’s formative years – gathered for a cocktail party on 18 February to honour Frank Stuckey (’24) on his approaching 100th birthday. The event was held at the home of Keith and Helen Weymouth.
It was a double celebration, as former master Frank (at the instigation of much-loved sportsmaster ‘Ginner’ Davidson) was the ‘midwife’ at the Old Scotch Tennis Club’s birth in 1959.
Ginner asked Frank to form a competitive club for participation in the Grammarian and Public Schools Tennis Association, and Frank’s organisational skills got the club up and running.
President Colin Simpson proposed the toast to the club and to Frank, who responded in an entertaining and uniquely reminiscent style.Scotch College: ABN 86 852 826 445 ACN 005 650 395 CRICOS 00624A (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students)
